South Africa Tours & Trips

Why Visit South Africa

South Africa is a wonderful combination of fantastic climate, beautiful wildlife, and friendly people. Touch down in the buzzing city of Cape Town, jam-packed with history, beauty, and family-friendly accommodation. Spend your days wandering around the city, or take a red bus tour to see Camps Bay and Groot Constantia, the oldest wine farm in the country. One thing that’s a must-do when visiting Cape Town is to take the cable car up to the top of Table Mountain to see spectacular views of the city and harbor. Other nearby attractions include Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was jailed for 27 years, and picturesque Cape Point, a great spot for lunch.

Down the drag is South Africa’s Garden Route, a stretch of south-eastern coastline located between the Tsitsikamma Mountains and the warm Indian Ocean. Ten nature reserves embrace the diverse eco-systems of the region, along with marine reserves where you can spot whales, dolphins, sharks, and seals. The Garden Route is home to unique flora called fynbos, as well as forest and wetlands, making for great hiking trails. Nearly 300 species of birds live in this area making it a wonderful bird watching destination too.

Further north up the coast lies the Eastern Cape, the traditional home of the Xhosa people and the birthplace of Nelson Mandela. The Eastern Cape is a particularly splendid wildlife area, where you can view the Big 5 on safari in a mostly malaria-free environment. Addo Elephant Park is one of the area’s best nature reserves and offers sanctuary to elephants, buffalo, and rhino. Close by in Jeffreys Bay is some of the country’s wildest and most beautiful coastline, backed by rainforests and is one of South Africa’s favorite surfing destinations.
