Bound to be a family holiday for the books, this 7-Day Botswana tented safari is the perfect option for adventurous families who also enjoy their creature comforts. With a mobile tented camp as your home base, your family will have the opportunity to discover the Okavango Delta like true explorers while simultaneously contributing to eco-friendly travel practices. The camp offers a low-carbon footprint operation without compromising on your family’s comfort. During your stay, you will experience two sought after safari destinations in the Okavango Delta as you migrate from your camp in the Moremi Game Reserve to the Khwai Conservancy mobile camp. The highlights of your family holiday will be day and night game drives, mokoro safaris on the waterways of the Okavango, bird viewing and a scenic flight over the Delta. To maximise your Botswana Tented Safari experience we recommend traveling between the months of July and October for the best game viewing opportunities.

The Mobile tented camp is eco-friendly and has a low-carbon footprint. The mobile camp runs on solar power and has minimized their plastic waste by providing guests with a glass bottle and stainless steel straw for the duration of their trip. Biodegradable amenities are provided and encouraged at the camp and grey-water systems have been integrated to save water. Guests can also rest assured that all of the produce served at the camp has been bought from local community members and grocery stores to support the economy and community.

The Mobile tented camp welcomes children aged 12 years and up.

Day 1 - 4

Moremi Game Reserve, Okavango Delta

Your mobile family safari starts on arrival at Maun Airport in Botswana. Here, your family will connect to their light aircraft flight to an airstrip in the Moremi Game Reserve within the Okavango Delta. A Jumbari Family Safaris representative will welcome you on arrival and transfer you to your glamping accommodation by safari vehicle.

Your family will be accommodated in two luxury tents, each with king-sized beds and ensuite bathrooms. The strategic location of the camp will maximise your game viewing experience in Moremi and offer your family an authentic bush safari.

For the birders among you, the Moremi Game Reserve is famous for being home to more than 500 species of birds and the famous big five (although sightings of rhino are still rare). At night your family can enjoy an evening game drive and discover the nocturnal wildlife within the reserve. Dinners will be served around the campfire where you can exchange stories from your day and look-out for shooting stars in the African sky. Tuck into your tent at night and listen out for a lion’s roar or a hyenas laugh in the distance.

Day 4 - 7

Khwai Conservancy, Okavango Delta

On the fourth day of your Botswana tented safari, your family will be transferred to your second safari destination, the Khwai Conservancy, by road. This region is well known for its population of wild dog as well as close encounters with elephants and predators alike.

Here, your family can enjoy game drives by day and night, birding safaris and an optional scenic flight over the Delta. Mokoro safaris are also offered but are subject to the water levels in the Delta. This experience will take you along the waterways of the Okavango Delta on a traditional dug-out canoe and it is an excellent opportunity to spot hippos, crocodiles and elephants from a new vantage point.

- Departure -

Today marks the end of your family safari in Botswana. After your morning game drive activity, you will enjoy a hearty breakfast before packing up your belongings. Meet your driver for your transfer to the local airstrip for a light aircraft flight back to Maun airport where your family will connect to your international flight home.
