Day by day itinerary

One of Africa’s premier safari destinations, Botswana’s diverse landscapes guarantee exceptional wildlife encounters all year-round. From December, the summer rains of green season erupt, transforming the dry African bush into a vivid green landscape. Flowers come into bloom, birds fill the air and wildlife bring their young to feed on the fresh grass shoots with predators waiting in the wings. Avoid the crowds and experience an exclusive eco-friendly Botswana family safari this green season.

Mma Dinare is 100% eco-friendly featuring the latest in solar power and waste disposal technology. Careful planning and consideration have gone into the construction of Mma Dinare to ensure the camp has little to zero impact on the environment.

Chobe Safari Lodge supports its local community through donations. This includes supporting a local beading workshop, the Kachikau Primary School, and offering boat cruises to the local community.

Mma Dinare features a spacious family tent and professional child-minders are available upon request. The camp offers an exclusive family safari experience and includes a private vehicle with a private guide and a complimentary young explorer kit for your little ones.

Chobe Safari Lodge features a family room with seperate bunk beds for kids in the 2nd bedroom. Children from the age of 6 – 11 pay 50% for all activities and meals. Chobe Safari Lodge offers a babysitting service to families on safari.

Please note a maximum of 2 adults and 2 children sharing under the age of 12.

Day 1 - 3

Your green season safari begins on arrival at Maun Airport, Botswana. A Jumbari Family Safaris representative will be ready to welcome you and direct you to your scenic, light aircraft transfer to Mma Dinare Camp. Touch down at the camp’s airstrip, where your dedicated safari guide will accompany you to the camp, a mere 45-minute drive away.

Nestled in a private concession between Moremi Game Reserve and the Okavango Delta, Mma Dinare overlooks the Gomoti River floodplains and the exclusive Chief’s Island, the largest island in the Delta. The eco-sensitive tented camp features the latest in solar and waste technology, ensuring that your green season safari experience leaves zero traces on Botswana’s natural environment.

After check-in,  you and your family can settle into the rhythm of the African bush and unwind at the camp’s swimming pool before heading out into the concession for your first safari experience. Spend your days on daily morning and night game drives, as well as motorboat cruises and family fishing expeditions. While the adults are out on guided bush walks and traditional mokoro safaris, your little ones can enjoy mini-tracking expeditions and learn how to identify animals with their explorer booklets in tow.

We recommend visiting Chief’s Island during your stay, home to one of the Delta’s most famous game-viewing areas, the Mombo Concession. The island is particularly well-known for its predator activity, as the diverse habitats attract a high concentration of prey including buffalo, impala, wildebeest, zebra, giraffe and warthog.

Located on the banks of the Chobe River, this iconic lodge is on the doorstep of four African countries: Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe and Zambia. Explore Chobe National Park on daily game drives and boat cruises. The lodge features a restaurant, cocktail bar and swimming pool – the perfect place to cool off after a day on safari.

Your time at Chobe Safari Lodge can be spent on daily game drives through the wildlife-rich Chobe National Park, home to the largest concentration of elephant in Africa.
