Tick off two bucket list destinations in Africa: Zimbabwe & Botswana

Your journey starts in the town of Victoria Falls at Batonka Guest Lodge. Centrally located, you will have easy access to one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, Victoria Falls before crossing the border for the start of your Botswana family safari. Your tented lodge, Elephant Valley Lodge, is located in the Chobe Forest Reserve and offers daily 4×4 game drives through Chobe National Park. Next up, your journey takes you into the heart of the Okavango Delta to Kadizora Camp. Spend your days exploring the waterways and traversing the surroundings in search of members of the Big 5. Next up, you will fly into Moremi Game Reserve for your stay at Saguni Safari Lodge. Expect once-in-a-lifetime game viewing experiences, daily walking safaris, game drives and mokoro safaris.

Eco-friendly:

Batonka Guest Lodge’s rooms feature solar geysers, LED lighting, as well as ozone friendly air conditioners that consume 40% less power. The lodge uses grey water and timed irrigation systems in the gardens and seperates organic waste to produce vermicompost.

Elephant Valley Lodge uses borehole water for all functions in the lodge, avoiding the use of municipal water which is in high demand. The lodge features a 20,000l bio chemical septic tank which filters and purifies water, making it reusable for irrigation in the area. Electrical usage is monitored and water is heated for only 2 hours a day. Waste is removed daily and taken to an eco-friendly dump.

Kadizora Camp uses solar and gas energy and boasts a water purification process as well as waste management plant.

Saguni Safari Lodge is sensitive to its surrounding environment and uses solar power energy as well as a waste management plant and water purification process.

Child-friendly:

Batonka Guest Lodge welcomes children of all ages and little ones under the age of 3 stay for free.

Elephant Valley Lodge features a Family Forest Tent and welcomes children of all ages. Children under the age of 6 will not be permitted on game drives.

Kadizora Camp Note welcomes children over the age of 6.

Saguni Safari Lodge welcomes children over the age of 6.

Day 8 marks the final day of your Victoria Falls & Botswana Family Safari.

Day 1

Batonka Guest Lodge, Victoria Falls

Upon arrival at Victoria Falls Airport, a Jumbari Family Safaris representative will meet you and transfer you to your guest house in Victoria Falls, Batonka Guest Lodge. Set in lush gardens, Batonka Guest Lodge is located 1.3 miles from the Falls.

The lodge features 27 rooms with a swimming pool in the garden, an ideal spot to unwind after your day of travel, as well as indoor and outdoor dining areas and a cosy lounge.

The lodge offers a one-way shuttle to the Falls twice a day, giving you the opportunity to explore all that the Falls has to offer in the afternoon.

Day 2 - 3

Elephant Valley Lodge, Chobe Forest Reserve

Wake up to a hearty breakfast at Batoka Guest Lodge before check-out. Your driver will meet you to transfer to the Botswana border for you boat transfer into Botswana. Once on the other side your driver will transfer you to Elephant Valley Lodge, a mere 30 minute drive away.

The first leg of your Botswana family safari takes you to the Chobe Forest Reserve and offers an ideal base to explore the wilderness of Chobe National Park. The tented lodge features 20 Meru-style safari tents, a lounge and outdoor dining area and an infinity pool, perfect for a dip after a day traversing the African bush. Overlooking a waterhole, enjoy the ultimate arm-chair safari from Elephant Valley Lodge and watch elephants come to drink from the banks from the deck of the main lodge.

Home to the largest population of African elephants, you and your family can enjoy daily 4×4 game drives through Chobe National Park, as well as boat cruises along the Chobe River before enjoying a bush dinner under the African sky.

Day 4 - 5

Kadizora Camp, Okavango Delta

After your morning activity and a hearty breakfast at Elephant Valley Lodge, your driver will meet you to transfer you to Kasane airport for your onward flight to the Okavango Delta. On arrival, a lodge representative will meet you and transfer you to Kadizora Camp in the heart of the Okavango Delta.

Kadizora Camp is located between the Vumbura River and Selinda Spillway and overlooks the seasonal floodplains of the delta. Featuring a bar and dining area, the main lodge surrounds a communal fire pit as well as a swimming pool for you to enjoy after days out in the Delta. Kadizora offers a private safari experience for you and your family with only 9 luxury tents on the grounds, each with a private deck and secluded views.

The luxury tented camp offers a wide range of activities. Daily activities at Kadizora Camp include game drives, walking safaris, boating and Mokoro boat excursions (seasonal). The lodge also offers an optional hot air balloon experience over the Delta which we highly recommend.

Day 6 - 7

Saguni Safari Lodge, Moremi East

Wake up and enjoy an early morning game drive through the reserve before a filling breakfast back at base camp. After a simple check-out, your driver will meet you to transfer you to the Kadizora Airstrip for your light aircraft flight to Saguni Safari Lodge.

The last stop on your Botswana family safari takes you to Moremi East in the Okavango Delta. Saguni Safari Lodge offers 9 forest tents and 8 luxury river tents that blend seamlessly with their island environment. Overlooking the Mbudi Lagoon, Saguni Safari Lodge is ideally located in the game-rich area of Khwai home to lion, cheetah, leopard, wild dog, elephant, buffalo, hippo and giraffe.
